Frequently asked questions
MyVisit™ is a convenient way to collect medical samples or get cardiac monitoring set up, in the comfort of your home or any location of your choice, at a date and time that fits your schedule.
Booking an appointment for yourself or a loved one is easy with our online portal; all you need to get started is a test requisition. With MyVisit™, a specially trained lab technician will travel to you to collect medical samples, which will then be safely transported to a trusted LifeLabs® laboratory for testing. The results will be sent directly to your doctor and will be available to you through MyCareCompass™.
A MyVisit™ appointment fee is $80 per person and covers the cost of the lab technician visiting you. Most tests are covered by provincial health care plans. Any tests prescribed by your healthcare provider that are not covered by your provincial health care plan, will incur an additional charge and LifeLabs® will contact you directly to detail such costs.
Cardiac monitoring requires two service visits: first for device connection, then a follow-up for removal. You may opt to drop off the cardiac monitor at a local LifeLabs® location to avoid the second service fee for device removal.
All service and non-OHIP test fees can be paid through our online portal prior to the appointment. We accept Visa and Mastercard and will confirm payment via email or SMS to the email address/phone number associated to your account.
There is no charge for cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment time.
The full MyVisit™ service fee will be billed for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment, or if the patient is not present for the appointment, however, all pre-paid non-OHIP test fees will be fully refunded. Please allow 3-5 business days for MyVisit service fee refunds and 4-6 weeks for non-OHIP test fee refunds to be processed and issued to your original method of payment.
